Antares SPARC I/O Products

Antares Microsystems produces a full line of SBus I/O boards for SPARC and SPARC-Compatible workstations and servers including those built by Sun Microsystems, Axil, Ross, Fujitsu, HAL, Tatung, Cray, Convex, Cycle, Sanar and others. Antares has shipped tens of thousands of add-on SBus boards including SCSI host adapters, Ethernet controllers, graphics accelerators, audio boards, terminal servers and printer interfaces.

The company was founded in 1989 by a group that includes the co-designer of the SBus and the chief hardware designer of the SPARCstation-1. Antares was the first to ship SBus SCSI host adapters, and has continued that record of innovation by being first to market with Ethernet/SCSI combo boards and the first to produce an MBus I/O board.
